Emilio Vedova in San Marco Square, Venice, 1968

1968

Participates in demonstrations and gives speeches in solidarity with the student movement. He is invited by the students to hold ‘countercourses’ at the Accademia di Belle Arti.
Initiates a busy period of gravure work: engravings, etchings and lithographs on steel plates. Using a luminous table, he begins working on his fragments/film/collage montages (an original technique), which would evolve into the ‘gigantografie’.

In September, a full-scale retrospective is dedicated to the artist at Ferrara’s Palazzo Diamanti, where he exhibits a new installation of the great Plurimi.
